About

Engineer by trade, tinkerer by default.

I'm Jens — a software and infrastructure engineer based in Rotterdam. I started programming at twelve to make mods for Minecraft, and that mix of building something and then keeping it running for other people has shaped everything since.

These days I work on real-time systems professionally, and at home I run game servers and poke at IoT projects. I like the unglamorous parts — deploys, monitoring, the boring reliability work that means nobody notices anything went wrong.

When I'm not at a keyboard you'll usually find me somewhere around Rotterdam, or still at a keyboard, just for fun.
